WELCOME TO BICHON FRISE CLUB OF WESTERN PA
Bichon Frise Enthusiasts
The Bichon Frise Club of Western PA (BFCWPA) is a licensed/sanctioned American Kennel Club (AKC) club which was founded to promote the loveable breed through education, AKC Speciality Shows, and the breed standard. The club is comprised of both pet and show Bichons. Members who show participate in various AKC sports such as conformation, obedience, rally obedience, and agility. We are also approved by the AKC to hold specialty shows. Some of our dogs are certified therapy dogs who work within our communities. We hold club meetings every other month and an annual picnic. We also host educational programs and seminars of interest to our members, and participate in community events to promote our breed. We encourage and welcome those who are interested in the Bichon Frises or are pet or show owners to join our group and participate in our activities!

The Bichon Frise
This curly white-haired fluffball is the descendants of the Water Spaniel. They were the cuddly companion of the royal ladies of France in the 16th century. Today their friendly, gentle nature makes them great family pets.
Intelligent & Trainable
The Bichon Frise has also stolen the hearts of many in the Show world. All the breeders in our club have shown their Bichon's competitively receiving many titles and championships. Others have trained their dogs in obedience, agility and as therapy dogs, with notable accomplishments. Here's Pepper, one of our favorite Therapy Dogs.
The members of our club are enthusiastic about preserving the standards of the Bichon Frise through appropriate breeding so that others can enjoy this energetic and social breed. We present education to members and the community on responsible dog ownership.
